File Upload

The file upload control consists of several controls, but requires only one setting; the location of the upload folder in which to put the files. This is controlled by the location of the form within the portal, and can be set to a sub folder under your portal directory.

Note: The upload location is relative to where the form will be installed, so when creating your form be sure you know where it will be installed so as not to disrupt or misplace the files that are uploaded using this control

Data Grid

The datagrid control is a feature to display groups of information in a list, where each row represents a datarow in the result set. The values can be defined by other fields on the form, and saved using a button control that is set to “Save Fields into Database”. This allows a data entry person to enter in many rows of data, and group this data based on which form it was entered into.

Image

The image control is not implemented.

Button

The button control will bring a few options up to help you design the process of your form.

Type of Button

Button
This settings puts a regular button on the page.

LinkButton
This setting will put text on the page as a link, that will appear like an HTML anchor would and will have all applicable CSS values applied to it.

ImageButton
This setting will put an image button on the page.

What does this Button do?

Label

The label control adds text or html to your form and can represent an item of data from the database or a preset value. You can link the label to another field on the page by defining a Field Parameter which is linked to the other field.

Complete the form and redirect to the selected welcome page or URL for the form
This setting is the default ‘submit’ button function, completing the form, entering it’s values into the database, and redirecting the user to the default welcome page or URL setting for completed forms

Complete the form and redirect to a custom URL
This setting completes the form, enters the values in the database, and brings up a textbox in which to enter the custom URL for redirection.

Mark the form as In Process to save for later and exit
This setting will mark the form as ‘In Progress’, save any completed values in the database, and exit the application or portal. When the user returns to this form, the previously entered values will be filled in to allow the user to continue the process of filling out the form.

Open a new window to a URL, and leave the form open
This setting will bring up a blank browser window, open the specified URL, and allow the user to return to the form at their discretion by leaving the current window open.

Save a group of field values to a custom table in the database. Fields are added as Parameters for the button
This setting will bring up a group on controls in which you can enter a list of values and text descriptors which will be saved
