Configuring the Content Server and Account

The Video Player module is designed to fit into the KHZ Content Management Suite, and consists of two fields to designate the Content Server and Account to use.  If you do not need this feature, select the default "Local Database" option from the DataSources list and the VideoPlayer will upload files to your Portal Home Directory.  If you do intend on linking your videos to your Content Account on a remote server, select the server from the DataSources list, and enter in your account ID.  To read a tutorial on how to install and configure DataSources Click Here.

Uploading Videos and Images

There are four steps involved in uploading videos to your player.  They must be followed in order.

  1. Name the File (this is the actual name of the video file, ending in .WMV)  eg:  my video file.wmv (windows media video FREE encoder/convertor here)
  2. Upload the IMAGE file used as the thumbnail by choosing it on your local computer, and clicking the Upload Image button.  It should be a small image no more than 100px wide.  Wait for the screen to refresh.
  3. Upload the VIDEO file by choosing it on your local computer and clicking the Upload button.  Wait until the progress bar reads 100% Upload Completed.
  4. Name your video with a descriptive title.
  5. Name the Author or Subject of the video
